The TV Series Buffy The Vampire Slayer is based on a movie with the same title. Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is a young girl who moves to SunnyDale. There she discovers that she is the latest in a line of "Vampire Slayers". Slayers have powers to fight against vampires, demons and other forces of darkness. Buffy gets help from a watcher, Rupert Giles, who guides, teaches, and trains her. Unlike her predecessors Buffy gets some loyal friends (Willow, Xander) known as The Scooby Gang who help her. Later she also gets help of Angel, a vampire with a soul.
